Zidane leaves Real Madrid
Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid in May of 2018.
Zidane had a very successful tenure as Madrid boss and delivered an impressive three Champions League trophies.
Despite his impressive stint with Real Madrid, Zidane has yet to return to management and has instead been spending a lot of time with his family.

Given Zidane had only just secured his 3rd UCL trophy as Madrid boss, his decision to leave was quite strange.
However, former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes he knows why Zidane chose to leave.
According to Ramon Calderon, Zidane left Madrid because Los Blancos were going to sell Cristiano Ronaldo and not Gareth Bale:
“Zidane insisted on keeping Cristiano and selling Bale.
“Instead, Perez did the opposite. Zidane wanted to have decision-making power when it came to signing and selling players, but his suggestions were ignored, so he decided to move on.
“Zidane made the right decision.”
Ronaldo joins Juventus as Madrid struggle
Given Real Madrid’s poor form this season, it is hard to disagree that Zidane made the right decision.
After 18 league games this campaign Real Madrid sit 5th in La Liga, 10 points off 1st place Barcelona.
Gareth Bale, the player Zidane wanted to sell instead of Ronaldo, is also having a poor season.
In 15 league games Bale has scored just four and assisted two for Madrid.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, is flying high in the Serie A. The 33-year-old has scored 14 and assisted six in 19 league games for Juventus.
