Real Madrid have turned down the opportunity to sign Serge Gnabry this summer amid his ongoing contract dispute with FC Bayern, with the German's deal set to expire next summer.

Los Blancos are on the hunt to strengthen their attack this summer, following the U-turn made by Kylian Mbappe in his decision to extend his deal with Paris Saint Germain.

However, Gnabry, who is keen to see an improved contract in Bavaria or elsewhere, will not be the man arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

They claim that 'Real Madrid has neither received an offer nor has it shown any interest in hiring a player who is not essential but is important within the current structure of Bayern', with the European Champions now minded to utilise Rodrygo more on the right flank.

Gnabry Premier League bound?

Should Gnabry leave the German champions, there are few destinations that would be able to match his salary. Liverpool are on the hunt for a new forward, should Sadio Mane opt to head to pastures new.

And, with Chelsea seemingly closing in on a move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, the options for a lucrative move seem to lie squarely in the hands of Manchester United and Arsenal.

Neither side have the allure of Champions League football, which could seriously hamper any chance of them adding the 26-year-old to their ranks, though some would hope for a fairytale return to north London.

Ultimately, though, it seems as though Gnabry could well be remaining in Bavaria as his options narrow.
