Real Madrid to offer Man United chance to sign Keylor Navas – Telegraph

de Gea’s nightmare season

David de Gea is not having a great 2018/19 season.

The Spaniard is often regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, but a lot of his displays this campaign would suggest otherwise.

After 36 games of the season, United have let in 51 goals, their most ever goals conceded in a single Premier League season.

David de Gea himself has also been making some big individual errors.

The last one caused Man United to draw 1-1 with Chelsea and put a huge dent in their top four hopes.

Navas to Old Trafford?

de Gea’s current United deal runs out in 2020 and he has yet to come to terms over a fresh contract.

As a result, de Gea could be available to negotiate with clubs regarding a free transfer as early as January of 2020.

This has led to speculation over his future and to United being linked with a replacement.

On Saturday, the Telegraph reported that Real Madrid are willing to let United sign Keylor Navas.

Navas has made just nine league appearances for Los Blancos this term, following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois last summer.

Granted, Navas has played more frequently since Zinedine Zidane returned to Madrid.

But given the quality of the two keepers, it is unlikely that either will want to play second fiddle to the other.
