Real Madrid have released a statement in relation to a reported interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.
The Portuguese star left the Bernabeu to join Juventus this summer and that means he will need to be adequately replaced.
Several players have been linked with a move including Kylian Mbappe but Neymar has been linked with Los Blancos for several months now.
There were suggestions today that the player had been approached by one Real Madrid official after he flew out to Santos to speak with the players family.
Those were reports seemed to be a clear indication that the club were at least interested in signing the Brazilian.
While it did not suggest that Paris Saint-Germain would be willing to sell or even the player would be interested, it was certainly supposed to be the first move.
Now, Real Madrid have released a statement on Friday evening suggesting that the link are simply not true and no offer is even planned.
‘The constant information that links PSG player Neymar Jr. with our club, Real Madrid C. F. wants to clarify that he has not planned to make any offer for the player,’ the statement on their official website read.
‘The relationship between the two clubs is extraordinary, so that, if at some point Real Madrid were considering hiring a PSG player, the first thing he would do would be to go to his club.’
