Real Madrid were reportedly offered the chance to sign one of Arsenal’s best players in the last few days of the transfer window but passed it up.
That came in the form of contract rebel Alexis Sanchez who looked set for a move to Manchester City at the end of the transfer window.
It was said that a deal for Sanchez to move to the Etihad was agreed in the final two days of the transfer window but the deal fell through.
That was due to Arsenal being unable to seal a deal for a replacement, with a late move for Thomas Lemar being too little too late.
The Frenchman was not convinced of the move to the Emirates Stadium and the deal would not have been completed in time.
That meant that the player has to sit tight until the January transfer window before he can leave Arsenal.
Though, Real Madrid may well be the club that he moves to after it was revealed that Madrid were offered the player but rejected.
While they may have rejected it first time around, they will likely not make that mistake after Zinedine Zidane regretted his decision.
That would mean that both Manchester City and Real Madrid will have to go head-to-head for the player during the winter window.
Could Sanchez come up against his former club in Barcelona next year?
Pep Guardiola actually tried to add Alexis Sanchez to that his ManCity team. What an Animal

Another star to leave?
It’s not going the best for Arsenal right now as a number of their players look to leave the club.
Losing Alexis Sanchez is always going to be a massive blow but they are set to lose another one of their best players to Manchester United.
