Off to Real Madrid? Pep Guardiola on Sergio Aguero’s future

Man City 4 – Bournemouth 0

Manchester City’s grip on the Premier League didn’t let up on Saturday as they beat Bournemouth 4-0.

The Cherries day started badly when Junior Stanislas was forced off injured after just 12 minutes. And then the goals started hitting the net.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring with a header. Raheem Sterling made the points safe with a second in the 53rd.

The Sky Blues scored two late goals. Sergio Aguero completed his double before Danilo found the target.

Sergio Aguero & Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola has been rotating his strikers all season.

Sergio Aguero was picked against Bournemouth on Saturday, but Gabriel Jesus has also had his fair share of starts this season.

Last week rumours began getting louder that Aguero, Man City’s record scorer, could be on his way to Real Madrid.

At the same time Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move from Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola on Sergio Aguero

In his post match interview after Bournemouth, Pep Guardiola was asked about Sergio Aguero’s place in the team.

Of course, the backdrop to the question is the Argentine’s long term future at the club.

Guardiola avoided the opportunity to confirm that Kun is a starter for City. Instead the Spanish boss seemed to make it plain that he intends to continue to rotate Aguero with Jesus.

With regards to Aguero’s longer term plans, Guardiola said the player will work out what’s best for him.
