Is the comeback on?
Real Madrid were faced with the task of finishing Juventus off tonight but it looks as though it’s going to be more difficult than expected.
That is because the Italian giants struck just before the second minute when Mario Mandzukic headed home to make it 3-1 on aggregate.
With Roma’s shock win over Barcelona fresh in the mind of all football fans, some were dreaming of another comeback win.
Juventus were clearly on the front foot and Gonzalo Higuain even had another chance in which he should have made it 2-0.
Douglas Costa’s cross was palmed into the path of the Argentine by Keylor Navas but Higuain was unable to put it past him.
To make things worse for Real Madrid, they did go 2-0 down when Mario Mandzukic scored his second goal late in the first-half!
That had the Italian fans going crazy and it’s safe to say that it’s game on now.
What a start!

One of the biggest talking points of the game was no doubt going to be Gianluigi Buffon.
The Italian was facing possibly his last Champions League game with the likelihood he could retire from football this summer.
Well, if it is to be his final game, then he certainly showed up in typical Buffon fashion.
The goalkeeper was key in keeping the scoreline in Juventus’ favour in the first half, pulling off a string of important saves.
The most crucial came from Isco when the Spaniard was found in the box by Ronaldo, with Buffon saving his left-footed effort.

Wrong offside call by the linesman?
Despite Buffon’s impressive saves, he had been beaten by Isco already.
Cristiano Ronaldo was able to get himself one-on-one with Medhi Benatia and was able to get a shot off at Gianluigi Buffon’s goal.
The Italian could only palm it out and despite Isco picking up the pieces and scoring, his goal was swiftly disallowed.
Though, upon reviewing the replays, it wasn’t exactly clear as to whether it was offside or not.
Some suggested he was onside, while some suggested that he was offside due to his shoulder.
Regardless that goal would no doubt have put some serious breathing room between Real and their opponents due to already having three away goals.
Safe to say, Real Madrid fans were certain it was offside.
