Dani Carvajal in hot water
Real Madrid produced a fine win at Real Sociedad on Sunday night as they kept up the pace somewhat with Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
Los Blancos were under pressure early on in the season after Barcelona’s 100% start but Zinedine Zidane’s team once again proved their class.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Real Madrid confirmed that right back Dani Carvajal had signed a new contract at the Bernabeu until 2022.
The best right back on the planet?
Carvajal has emerged as a brilliant defender for both Real Madrid and Spain in recent seasons.
A strong argument could be made that Carvajal is the best right back on the planet.
Leaving aside all the personal and team success Carvajal has been involved in, the Real Madrid right back has also been accused of racism by EPNS Colombia, a Colombian television station.
Dani Carvajal accused of racism
Earlier this month, Real Madrid were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by Levante at the Bernabeu in La Liga.
During that match, Carvajal was involved in an on-pitch argument with Levante’s Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma.
Television cameras captured a confrontation between Carvajal and Lerma after a controversial play.

According to lip readers, Carvajal referred to Lerma as an “asshole” and “f***ing monkey f***.”
Whilst the Colombian media have called for a La Liga investigation into Carvajal’s comments, there are no suggestions that this will happen.

Real Madrid are in midweek action when they face Real Betis in La Liga this Wednesday.
Following Betis, Real Madrid have two away games, at Alaves in La Liga, and then Borussia Dortmund away in the Champions League.
Although Nacho Fernandez can cover Carvajal, the Spain right back is expected to play in all the games mentioned above.
