Alvaro Morata returns to Madrid
Real Madrid today confirmed the signing of Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, exercising their £23m buy-back clause after selling him two years ago.
Chelsea and Arsenal have been heavily linked to the 23-year-old Spaniard in recent days and reports suggest Real Madrid will sell Morata to the highest bidder.
However, the statement released by Real Madrid suggested Zinedine Zidane wants the sought-after striker to link up with the Real Madrid first team for pre-season.
The statement released on Real Madrid’s website late on Tuesday afternoon reads:
“Real Madrid CF has informed Juventus FC of the decision to rescue the federative rights of the player Alvaro Morata, who will join the first team in the pre-season on the orders of Zinedine Zidane.”
Marca claim otherwise
Madrid based newspaper Marca believe Real Madrid are looking to sell their youth academy product, who is currently representing Spain at Euro 2016.
With Arsenal and Chelsea sniffing around, Marca claim Los Blancos want an eye-watering €75m for their latest acquisition Alvaro Morata.
