Real Madrid v Espanyol
Real Madrid face a crucial La Liga match at home to Espanyol this evening.
If Barcelona play their match at home to Las Palmas – which is in doubt due to the Catalunya referendum today – they are set to heap more pressure on Los Blancos.
Barcelona have won all six games so far this season. Leaving Real Madrid in the shade when it comes to La Liga.
Real Madrid may have won two successive Champions Leagues and the La Liga title last season, but their league form this campaign has been very poor.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have picked up just 11 points from a possible 18 in La Liga so far.
The bad news keeps coming for Real Madrid…
On Saturday, Real Madrid were hit with the news that Dani Carvajal would be out “indefinitely”.
A virus to Carvajal’s heart, a serious form of flu, means Real Madrid were unable to say when he would return.
And, this comes with Marcelo and Theo Hernandez also out.
Real Madrid could now well be regretting the fact they let Danilo leave for Manchester City this past summer.
Gareth Bale also misses Real Madrid v Espanyol
On Sunday, another major player has pulled out of the Real Madrid squad for the match versus Espanyol.
Gareth Bale is not in the Real Madrid squad list.
Bale played and scored against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night. But, the “Welsh Express” was withdrawn with five minutes remaining.
Zinedine Zidane was hopeful Bale would make the game but the squad list below does not include the former Spurs attacker.
Wales face two enormous games in World Cup qualification during the international break. Against Georgia on Friday, followed by Republic of Ireland at home on Monday week.
