Werner linked with Liverpool

Rather unsurprisingly, given his emphatic form, Werner has been linked with a move away from the German outfit.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Leipzig hitman throughout the current season.

And with the summer window slowly edging closer, a rather interesting report emerged earlier this week concerning the German international.

According to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, Werner can leave RB Leipzig for around €60m, due to a clause in his contract. And the same report from Falk also claimed that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing the 23-year-old to Liverpool.

Falk then provided an update on the above-linked statement, in which he claimed that Werner’s release clause must be activated by the end of April.

RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has since commented on the transfer talk surrounding Werner.

And whilst Mintzlaff stated that Werner is happy at Leipzig, and wants to play the rest of the season, he also didn’t refute the claims of a release clause of around €60m:

“We hear these reports all the time.

“Someone makes something up, and everyone else copies it. Werner is happy here and wants to play the rest of the season.” As quoted by the Mirror.
