Southampton vs Crystal Palace
Southampton’s next game sees them host Crystal Palace on the 30th of January.
After they looked almost certain to be relegated under Mark Hughes, Southampton now have a new lease of life under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Saints currently sit 15th in the Premier League and three points above 18th place Cardiff City.
A win for Southampton vs Crystal Palace could see them move above the Eagles who are 14th in the division.
Southampton are also on a decent run of form and are undefeated in their last three league games.
Their last match saw them come away with a 2-1 win vs Marco Silva’s Everton.
As for Crystal Palace, they have won just one of their last five league games.
Although, Palace were unlucky not to get anything out of their last league game which saw them lose 4-2 vs Liverpool at Anfield.
Matt Targett injury update
While Southampton did pick up a solid 2-1 win this past weekend, they did suffer one big blow.
Matt Targett was subbed off in the 35th minute vs Everton.
Since Hasenhuttl took over at Southampton, Targett has been a key member of the Saints starting line-up and has now made 11 league appearances this season.
However, Hassenhuttl is still not sure how bad Targett’s current injury is:
“I don’t know how difficult it is or how serious it is. I hope is not so serious.”
Matt Targett will be assessed after limping off on Saturday having picked up a left knee injury. “I don’t know how difficult it is or how serious it is. I hope is not so serious,” revealed Ralph Hasenhüttl following the win over Everton. #SaintsFC
