Manchester United got back to winning ways on Saturday, seeing off Norwich by three goals to two.
Despite the win, though, Manchester United did not make things easy for themselves on the day.
Cristiano Ronaldo had United 2-0 up after 32 minutes. However, Norwich were back on level terms 52 minutes in after Teemu Pukki set one up before scoring himself.
Ronaldo did eventually rescue United the victory late on, but Ralf Rangnick was clearly not happy after the match.
The German criticised United for their lack of physicality before then suggesting that they are the only team in the league that concede goals like the ones they did vs Norwich:
"I told the team we were playing with a very offensive formation and line-up, with Paul Pogba and Bruno in midfield and Jesse," he said. "I think this is a very offensive formation and line-up and that’s why I told them that it’s very important that we play with a defensive mindset and everybody has to think like a defensive midfielder.
"Like I said, after we scored the second goal we allowed too much open space in transitional moments and if you look at the two goals we conceded, especially the first one, we had the ball on the sideline but we just were not physical enough.
"As soon as there is body contact we need to become physical and more aggressive, but we weren’t and for me it was too easy. We are the only team in the league to concede goals like this. We were all behind the ball in that moment so it is not a question of tactical discipline, it’s a question of how physical do we defend in moments like this."
Man United’s Champions League hopes
Manchester United’s win over Norwich moved them up to 5th, three points adrift of Tottenham in 4th.
Arsenal are then level on points with United, but do have a game in hand.
However, as none of said trio are playing well at the moment, it does look as though the race for 4th could come down to the final day of the season.
