Raheem Sterling’s miss at 1-0 proved to be very costly for Manchester City, as they dropped two points against Premier League high-flyers, Burnley.
City had taken the lead through a wonder strike from full-back Danilo before Johann Gudmundsson equalised just moments after Sterling’s horrendous miss.
Social media have reacted, claiming that the 22-year-old’s miss was the worst of the season, costing his side two points at Turf Moor this afternoon.
Sterling was subbed off just minutes after his miss at Turf Moor, which ultimately proved to be very costly for his side.
The winger reacted angrily to his withdrawal, throwing his gloves to the floor in frustration.
Ther miss came after Kyle Walker played a wonderfully waited ball along the floor picking out the former Liverpool man, who missed from just a few yards out with the goal at his mercy.
Gudmundsson, with just a few minutes from time, beat Walker to back post to turn in Matthew Lowton’s excellently flighted cross.
Miss of the season!
