Will Varane unite with Pogba & Hazard this summer?
Real Madrid defender Raphaël Varane has discussed the possibility of Los Blancos signing both Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard.
It’s been a pretty disappointing season for Real Madrid.
The Bernabeu side have been managed by three different bosses during a campaign of struggles.
The season started with Julen Lopetegui at the helm, but after a disappointing start, he was quickly dismissed.
Santiago Solari then followed, but he was also dismissed by Real Madrid after their Champions League exit.
Finally, Zinedine Zidane returned to the club, with Los Blancos looking to regain some stability.
Now, ahead of next season, Real Madrid could strengthen heavily in the transfer window.
‘Any great player has a place at Madrid and he is one’
Two players who have been linked with moves to the Bernabeu are Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard.
Now, Rafa Varane has been speaking about the possibility of Real Madrid signing both of them.
On Pogba, Varane explained that the Manchester United midfielder is welcome in Madrid, and a move for him is ‘a possibility’.
‘I can’t say what I talk to (Pogba) about, but any great player has a place at Madrid and he is one,’ Varane told Marca, as cited by the Mail.
‘In Madrid, there is a lot of competition. It is a possibility, there is a lot of noise around and we will see in August where he is.’
‘He could also play at Madrid’
It was a similar case when Varane was asked about Hazard, with the defender claiming the Belgian ‘could also play at Madrid’.
‘I’ve known him since I started at Lens,’ Varane continued.
‘He is a top player and it’s like I said to explain the case with Pogba, he could also play at Madrid.
‘He is in the best moment of his career with the age and quality he has. When we (France) faced (Belgium) in the World Cup semi-finals we knew we had to have a special plan to stop him.’
