Liverpool’s Rafa Camacho to join Sporting CP
As confirmed by Times reporter Paul Joyce, Rafael Camacho is drawing close to a Liverpool exit, to sign for Sporting CP.
Camacho, a 19-year-old attacker, began his career with the Lions. Readers are told:
Talks between Liverpool and the 19-year-old Portuguese winger, who made two first-team appearances last season both at right back, have restarted and an agreement is edging closer.
Previously, Kicker had claimed that Schalke were winning the race to sign Camacho.
Schalke’s new manager is former Huddersfield boss David Wagner, who was Jurgen Klopp’s best man at his wedding.
Camacho only made one cameo appearance in the Premier League in 2018-19, during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Crystal Palace.
‘Frantic’ Bayern tried to sign Sepp van den Berg during his Anfield medical
Paul Joyce has also revealed how Bayern Munich tried to sign Sepp van den Berg during his Anfield medical.
Van den Berg is a 17-year-old centre-half, who completed a move to Liverpool from PEC Zwolle on Thursday.
The teenager has agreed a long term deal with the Reds, while he’s expected to start life on Merseyside in the Liverpool youth setup.

The Times claim that Bayern Munich were actively trying to sign the starlet before he signed his Liverpool contract:
Officials from the German champions made a series of increasingly frantic telephone calls to the player’s representatives yesterday in a late bid to derail a move to Anfield which is worth an initial £1.3 million.
The interest from Bayern, who were eager to speak to the player and his family and persuade them to ditch Liverpool and come to Bavaria instead, serves as a clear indication of the regard in which Van den Berg is held.
