Rafa Benitez celebrates Newcastle win over Stoke

Rafa Benitez ready to fight with Newcastle despite lack of money

While there is no doubting Rafa Benitez has not been backed enough at Newcastle in terms of transfer budget, the Spaniard still believes he can achieve something at Newcastle despite a lack of investment.

‘I have confidence we will do it with this group of people, with this staff and these players’

When commenting upon Newcastle’s lack of money, Benitez stated:

“I’m used to working without big money in all my teams – not at Liverpool, Chelsea or even Real Madrid were we spending big money.

“We were still achieving something.

“I have confidence we will do it with this group of people, with this staff and these players.

“We can achieve what we want to achieve, which at the moment is to stay up.

Benitez also had his say on Newcastle’s trip to Brighton this weekend:

“They are a good team.

“They have spent a lot of money, they have a good manager, good players, and are more experienced now.

“My job is to keep people calm and believing we can do well.

Newcastle vs Brighton

Newcastle take on Brighton this Saturday in a huge game for the Magpies.

Newcastle are currently 19th in the league table after eight games.

They have lost six and drawn two of their first eight games, giving them a dismal two points.

Rafa’s side have had a pretty tough fixture list facing the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United in their first eight games.

But even when Newcastle took on newly-promoted Cardiff they still failed to capture their first league win of the season.

As a result, it is of paramount importance that they pick up a win vs Brighton.

Brighton come into this game 13th in the table having won their last game vs West Ham.
