Rafa Benitez confirms Everton will be without four players vs Tottenham, provides update on Lucas Digne

Everton vs Tottenham

One of three Premier League ties set to take place on Sunday at 2 pm UK time will see Everton play host to Tottenham.

Everton had an excellent start to the season under Rafael Benitez and, at one point, looked as though they could be set to challenge for a place in the top-seven.

However, their form has dipped in a major way over recent weeks.

After winning four of their first six league games of 2021/22, Everton are now winless in their last four outings – losing three and drawing one.

The Merseysiders slipped to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham, conceded a staggering five goals to a struggling Watford and then, on Monday, lost 2-1 at the hands of Wolves.

As for Tottenham, they will have new boss Antonio Conte in the dugout for the second time this weekend. But, as made clear versus Vitesse on Thursday, the Italian still has a lot of work to do with his side.

So, Everton could yet get something out of the game, if they tighten up their backline.

Rafa Benitez on Everton team news

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Rafa Benitez would hold his latest pre-match press conference on Friday.

And, during the presser, the Spaniard provided a team news update on his squad.

In positive news for the Toffees, Lucas Digne could be available for the weekend. However, all of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Andres Gomes, Yerry Mina and Abdoulaye Doucoure are set to miss out:
