An extremely fortunate punter has won a huge 2000/1 and it is all thanks to a West Brom star during the International break.
The Irish punter placed the most extraordinary bet we have seen in a while and all it was waiting on was an Ireland goal against Wales.
The game was on a knife-edge for the majority of the 90 minutes but it was West Brom star and fellow Irishman James McClean that sealed the win.
Not only did the punter win an incredible bet, he seen his side beat Wales and make it into the playoffs for the 2018 World Cup.
For now, though, he won’t care about the football having won €8,700 from a €4.50 stake.
The bet was an 18-fold accumulator that included every game from the World Cup qualifiers on Monday and Tuesday.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson could not believe what had happened.
“This customer must have a crystal ball because just looking at all of those matches would make you dizzy, let alone predict who will win every one of them,” they explained to JOE.
“Fair play to him. He got change from a fiver after placing the bet and now he’s collecting nearly nine thousand euros. That’s not bad for a mid-week wager.”
You can find the full bet slip below.
Scotland set for change
While Ireland went through to the World Cup playoffs, Wales went home empty handed but they weren’t the only ones.
Scotland were unable to win their game against Slovakia which sealed their fate.
Now, it has been confirmed this week that manager Gordon Strachan has left his post.
Even further to that, we have a good idea who the man to replace him is.
