PSG’s Neymar & Real Madrid
Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles has posted an update on Neymar’s status at PSG this weekend.
It’s been clear throughout the summer that Neymar is angling for a move away from Paris.
Following two seasons at PSG – two seasons in which PSG have failed to impress in the Champions League – Neymar is thought to be keen on leaving.
Bought for 222 million euros, Neymar is reportedly keen to re-sign for Barcelona.
However, according to the Sunday Times, PSG are balking at a deal with the Catalans, in favour of negotiating with Real Madrid:
The Qatar-owned club (want) to offload the malcontent forward without allowing him to return to Barcelona.

Luka Modric plus cash for Neymar
To be clear, Real Madrid seem to be pushing for the Neymar deal as well.
However, the key issue now is the structure of any deal.
Duncan Castles notes that Los Blancos want to insert Gareth Bale into any deal with PSG.
However, PSG are eyeing up Luka Modric instead:
Madrid have offered a choice of several prominent members of their senior squad, including their own disillusioned forward, Gareth Bale.
According to a source familiar with negotiations, PSG are interested in a deal that would see Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric move to France in addition to a payment of £149m.
What does Neymar want?
If he had the power to choose, Duncan Castles believes that Neymar would favour a transfer back to the Camp Nou:
Neymar’s preferred destination is Camp Nou, aided by Lionel Messi, who has been pressing Barcelona’s board for several months to bring his close friend back to the club.
However, the Sunday Times reveal that while Barcelona have tried to entice PSG into a deal by offering Philippe Coutinho in part exchange, PSG have rejected that offer.
Barcelona ‘refuse’ to offer money for Neymar
Staying with Barcelona’s attempts to re-sign Neymar, Marca believe that the Catalans are unwilling to offer PSG any cash.
In a slightly strange decision, Marca say that Barcelona won’t pay a single euro to re-sign Neymar:
Barcelona will only sign Neymar this summer if Paris Saint-Germain are willing to accept players in return, as the Catalan hierarchy have made a decision to stand firm.
