French giants Paris Saint-Germain have this evening introduced a new section to the club’s official website, in the form of a ‘PSG hall of fame.’
The vast majority of the names listed as ‘legends’ on the Ligue 1 side’s site are completely justifiable, with modern legends the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho having been included.
Other former stars in the French capital to have received the nod as hall of fame-worthy include Bolton Wanderers legend Jay-Jay Okocha, former AC Milan powerhouse George Weah and one-time Tottenham Hotspur fan-favourite David Ginola.
However, one name appearing on the list will come as something of a shock to fans of the French giants, in the form of English legend David Beckham.
This is not to say that Beckham himself was not a great player. He absolutely was, and his stints at Manchester United and Real Madrid will live long in the memory.
However… the 42-year-old made just 10 appearances for the Parc des Princes side, spending a grand total of 553 minutes on the pitch.
A football legend? Absolutely. But a PSG legend? That seems a stretch…
