New ‘proof’ Tottenham’s Erik Lamela cheated vs Liverpool

Liverpool 2 – Tottenham 2

It’s been over half a week since last Sunday’s gripping Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham.

And still Liverpool fans are furious with how Spurs claimed a point at Anfield.

The match had one of the most incredible finishes in Premier League history. That’s after Mohamed Salah opened for Liverpool inside three minutes.

Victor Wanyama levelled for Spurs with a wonder strike in the 80th. Harry Kane then missed a penalty, before Salah morphed into Leo Messi to put Liverpool 2-1 up in the 90th minute.

But Spurs won a second late penalty in front of the Kop. This time Kane scored to chalk up his 100th Premier League goal.

On Wednesday night and Thursday morning on social media, Liverpool fans are sharing new footage to ‘prove’ Erik Lamela cheated.

Lamela won Tottenham’s second penalty at Anfield.

The Argentine midfielder went down in the Reds box after minimal contact from Virgil Van Dijk.

To be clear, Van Dijk did touch Lamela. But the question is whether Lamela exaggerated the incident to con the ref into pointing to the spot.

Liverpool fans believe that’s a nailed and shut case, and now they’ve got the footage to ‘prove’ it.

New video of the incident has been broadcasted by LFC TV, revealing how Liverpool fans in the Kop saw the action unfold.

The clip shows how Lamela went down in the box after being touched by VVD. But, at first instance, as it looked like the penalty was being waved away, the Spurs midfielder slowly started getting back on his feet.

Yet, when Lamela realised the linesman lifted his flag, the Argentine collapsed on the turf as if he’d been shot.

There’s no doubt Lamela enjoyed a bit of play-acting for Tottenham’s second penalty.
