According to a number of reports from the English press this morning, a trio of Premier league sides have contacted Arsenal regarding a possible summer move for a soon-to-be out of favour defender at the Emirates.
The player in question is Gunners full-back Kieran Gibbs, who has been in and out of Arsene Wenger’s starting lineup this season, making just 11 appearances in the Premier League.
With Nacho Monreal having firmly established himself ahead of Gibbs in the pecking order in North London, and talented Bosnian wing-back Sead Kolasinac set for a summer arrival, former English international Gibbs will likely soon find himself as the odd man out at the Emirates.
Three Premier League sides are ready to take advantage of this situation, with newly-promoted Newcastle United and Brighton having already registered their interest in Gibbs, while Tony Pulis’ West Brom have now also entered the race.
Pulis is said to be a long-term admirer of Gibbs, while the 27-year-old would provide invaluable Premier League experience to the likes of newly-promoted Newcastle and Brighton.
