2017-18 Premier League Player of the Year
Who will be crowned the 2017-18 Premier League Player of the Year?
After Saturday’s action in the Premier League, many were shouting from the rooftops that the award needs to go to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
But, on Sunday morning it’s interesting to notice that Salah is only the second favourite after Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne.
Many will see this as an opportunity to take the bookies to the cleaners.POTY tip: Kevin De Bruyne to win at 4/7 with Paddy Power.
Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the favourite
It’s easy to construct an argument for why Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the favourite.
Man City are a shoo-in to win the league, they’ve already won the League Cup, and they could yet end up winning the Champions League as well.
During that time, De Bruyne has been sensational all season for Pep Guardiola’s men. The Belgian has a league high 14 assists, while he’s also scored seven league goals.
Paddy Power are offering 4/9 odds on Kevin De Bruyne winning the PFA Player of the Year 2017-18 prize.POTY tip: Mohamed Salah to win at 7/4 with Paddy Power.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah offers amazing value
Liverpool slaughtered Watford 5-0 at Anfield on Saturday.
The star of the show was Mohamed Salah, who scored four times and set up Roberto Firmino for the other.
Salah has now scored a record high 28 goals in the Premier League this season: that’s four more than Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Yet the bookies have priced Salah at 7/4 to scoop the PFA Player of the Year 2017-18 gong.
That looks like incredible value!
Harry Kane, David Silva
Looking around the rest of the field, Tottenham forward Harry Kane is third in the ranking at 18/1.
Kane, of course, is now on the sidelined following his injury against Bournemouth.
Three Man City stars fill out the top six favourites for the POTY prize. David Silva is 20/1, Sergio Aguero is 40/1 while Raheem Sterling is also 40/1.
