Paul Pogba’s Newcastle dressing room bust-up with Jose Mourinho revealed

Paul Pogba vs Jose Mourinho

The Sun on Sunday refuse to let the story die.

In fact, the tabloid is trying it’s best to resuscitate and re-energise the friction between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba.

In the past few weeks, stories, generally pushed by the tabloid press, have claimed that Pogba is unhappy at Old Trafford.

Some have claimed the 100 million euro midfielder regrets returning to United from Juventus.

While at the same time Mourinho and Pogba have had differences of opinion on the pitch. And Mourinho has admitted that Pogba isn’t playing at his top level right now.

Man United beat Huddersfield 2-0 on Saturday in the FA Cup. Pogba missed the match through illness.

But is there something more to it?

Man United’s Newcastle dressing room bust-up

Newcastle recently beat Man United 1-0 in the Premier League.

Matt Ritchie scored the winner for the Magpies on that occasion.

According to Neil Ashton of the Sunday Sun, after the Newcastle game there was a ‘bust-up’ in the United locker room between Mourinho, Pogba and Phil Jones. Readers are told:

Mourinho accused Pogba of being “too casual” and “too careless” after substituting him a minute after Matt Ritchie scored the Newcastle winner last week.

Defender Jones was also in the firing line and both players were said to be shocked at being singled out and the ferocity of the manager’s verbal assault.

Some may wonder ‘where’s the story?’ Mourinho criticising his players after a defeat isn’t really groundbreaking news.

Others will also wonder how reports of Mourinho’s Pogba criticisms have got out.

Who has been speaking to the press from inside Man United’s locker room?

Huddersfield 0 – Romelu Lukaku 2

Man United booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Having lost 2-1 at Huddersfield in the Premier League, United made no mistake in the cup.

Romelu Lukaku moved onto 21 goals for the season with an excellent double at the Kirklees Stadium.

United will now face Brighton in the next round.
