Mauricio Pochettino’s update on Dele Alli vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder Dele Alli returned to first-team training today.

The 22-year-old has been struggling with a hamstring injury which saw him withdraw from the England squad.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino claims the club need to assess the player on Friday to determine his fitness ahead of Saturday’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s with Brighton.

Dele Alli could return to the fray for Spurs although the midfielder will be assessed tomorrow, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed.

Pochettino said:

“We still we need to wait until tomorrow to assess whether he will be part of the squad.

“Maybe we need to wait a few days more to involve him.”

Moussa Sissoko, along with Alli, has returned to first-team training.

Hugo Lloris will remain sidelined for the Premier League clash with a thigh injury

Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld are expected to return having missed the club’s trip to Milan.
