Pierre Emerick Aubameyang: Bundesliga top goal scorer 16/17

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang surprises his own translator on Borussia Dortmund future

An incredible season for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang!

There is an amazing striker on the market and it will be fascinating to see who snaps up Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

On Saturday, Aubameyang scored twice in Borussia Dortmund’s 4-3 win over Werder Bremen.

With Robert Lewandowski failing to score for Bayern Munich in the champions 4-1 win over Freiburg, the Gabon striker was crowned the top goal scorer in Germany’s top flight.

An incredible top goal scorers race in Germany

Aubameyang ended on 31 Bundesliga goals. Lewandowski finished on 30.

This was only the second time in Bundesliga history, that two players have scored more than 30 goals in a season.

As a touching tribute, Lewandowski has hailed Aubameyang and congratulated him on Twitter.

Whilst Borrussia Dortmund had Aubameyang’s goal scoring record to celebrate as well as the return of Marc Bartra.

Where next for Aubameyang?

It looks like being a summer of change for Borussia Dortmund despite the fact they confirmed 3rd position in the Bundesliga.

And, the famous German side in yellow have a DFB Pokal final to look forward to against Eintracht Frankfurt next Saturday evening.

Coach Thomas Tuchel has been tipped to leave. Whilst Aubameyang is widely thought of as a striker on the move this summer.

Aubameyang back to AC Milan?

After Dortmund’s win over Werder Bremen, Aubameyang gave an interview on German TV where he was asked whether he would be at Signal Iduna Park next season.

As can be seen in the picture above, Aubameyang even surprises his translator by admitting that his future will be decided this week – before the German cup final.

Aubameyang has been linked with a return to AC Milan as well as Liverpool in the Premier League.

The fact the Gabon striker speaks Italian in his interview, suggests he might be better off returning to Italy.

“Say what you want!”

Interviewer: “Will you stay at Dortmund?”

Aubameyang: “We will see. I will decide next week.”

Translator looking shocked.

Aubameyang to his translator: “Say what you want. We will see. I have to talk with the club next week and then we will see.”

Translator to Aubameyang: “But what about the cup final?”

Translator to interviewer: “We will talk with the club.”
