Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hints at long-term Arsenal stay

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has today discussed his hopes moving forward with the Gunners, as well as seemingly hinting that he is set to continue plying his trade at the Emirates ‘for the next few years’.

Arsenal standout

Gabonese hitman Aubameyang made the move to north London from Borussia Dortmund in January of last year.

And to say that the 30-year-old has since gone on to prove himself a hit would be putting it lightly.

All told, across 72 appearances in the red of Arsenal, Aubameyang has found the net a hugely-impressive 48 times, marking a ratio of 2 goals every 3 games.

The early weeks of the new campaign, meanwhile, have seen the pacy African stand out as, by some distance, the Gunners’ most important player.

As outlined below, on the back of his winner versus Aston Villa last weekend, Aubameyang’s goals have now directly contributed to all 11 Premier League points picked up by Unai Emery’s men this season:

Auba staying put

As such, the Arsenal faithful are no doubt hopeful of watching Aubameyang continue to find the net on a weekly basis for many years to come.

And, if the former Dortmund man’s latest comments are anything to go by, then this is precisely what ‘Auba’ intends to do.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports (via the Mirror) earlier today, the 30-year-old was drawn on his future, and hopes moving forward.

And, after outlining his silverware ambitions, Aubameyang seemingly went on to confirm that he intends to remain an Arsenal player ‘for the next few years’:

‘I feel that we can change something in this club and we will try. Now it’s time to win trophies.’

‘I’m sure we can do it and I am honestly happy to be here.’

‘I feel very good. For the next few years we want to play at a high level and win trophies. That’s what we are talking about.’
