Griezmann set for Camp Nou move
Philippe Coutinho’s agent has denied that a Barcelona move for Antoine Griezmann would signal the Brazilian’s departure this summer.
Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann announced on Tuesday that he will leave Atleti in the summer transfer window.
That comes just one year after he signed a new five-year deal in Madrid.
Speaking out on social media, Griezmann explained that it was the right time for him to move on.
“The truth is it has been difficult to take this route but it is what I feel I need and I would like to thank all of you for the love you have shown me during these five years,” he explained in a video on Twitter.
Now, Barcelona are expected to trigger his release clause and there are now questions over the future of Philippe Coutinho.
Will Coutinho be sacrificed?
The Brazilian has struggled since joining Barcelona from Liverpool.
Coutinho has only scored five La Liga goals this season, and his poor performances have led to suggestions he could leave.
Chelsea were linked with a move this week, with reports suggesting Coutinho could be targeted as the Blues look to replace Eden Hazard if he leaves for Real Madrid.

Griezmann’s impending move hasn’t helped rumours, but now Coutinho’s agent has responded by claiming that the Frenchman’s signing would have no impact on Philippe’s future.
“It’s untrue that Griezmann is going to replace Philippe at Barcelona,” he explained to AS.
“I don’t know why they are saying that. I don’t know about that and that’s why I don’t want to talk anymore, but it’s false.”
Whether Coutinho will leave Barcelona this summer is yet to be seen, but Griezmann’s arrival won’t have any effect on the Brazilian’s future.
