Man City get revenge over Barcelona
Well, what a difference a few weeks can make in football.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Barcelona thrashed Manchester City 4-0 at the Camp Nou, condemning Pep Guardiola to a nightmare return to his former club.
But that scoreline probably flattered Barcelona, and of course City had to play much of that second half with 10 men.
Having had time to regroup and re-evaluate themselves, City exacted revenge for that defeat tonight, beating the Catalans 3-1 at the Etihad in a pulsating and cracking Champions League game.
Gundogan at the Double
But things didn’t start so brightly for City.
Despite starting the game with a good tempo, they found themselves a goal down through a quick-fire Barcelona counter-attack, which Messi both started and finished.
But City weren’t cowed, and replied through a Gundogan goal before half-time.
City then took over the game in the second half, with Kevin De Bruyne giving them the lead through a free-kick, before Gundogan got his second to wrap the game up.
As good as Barca where 1st half, City have been 2nd. Deserve the lead.

It's not the first time Barça have had similar issues. Game gets out of control, rushed attacks, MSN barely on the ball.

There is no way that this happens against a Barça side that has Iniesta and Pique included. They're too immense. Would've solved our issues.

Barca in clear need of bringing in defensive & midfield recruits—so what's the betting they blow their full kitty on Coutinho next summer?

Man City's finest performance in Europe. Barcelona couldn't cope with them. How often can you say that?
