Pep Guardiola wouldn’t sell Kevin De Bruyne for any amount

De Bruyne is not for sale

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed he wouldn’t sell Kevin De Bruyne.

The former Barcelona boss made it clear just how much he valued the player, and said that he wouldn’t sell him unless the board forced him to.

Obviously, given De Bruyne has a long term contract at the club, that’s seriously unlikely.

Sky Sports report Guardiola said: “No I don’t think so.

“When Jorge Valdano (interviewer) asked me about selling (De Bruyne) for £250 million, I say no, but it’s my personal opinion.

“In England there are not release clauses so you have to negotiate with the club.”

City ambitions this season

After winning the title last season, City are of course looking to defend their title.

It would be a huge coup for Guardiola, especially with De Bruyne out injured at the minute.

He’s been a major player for City in the last couple of seasons, and Guardiola knows just how key he is.

Not only that, but City’s rival sides are far stronger this season.

Liverpool are putting together a real title challenge and could push City all the way.

Currently, Jurgen Klopp’s men sit at the top of the table. They’ve won all their games so far and are looking to increase their lead even further as they play Tottenham Hotspur in the early kick off.
