Pep Guardiola: Why Chelsea will be harder than Arsenal & Everton

Maurizio Sarri & Pep Guardiola

Man City 1st, Liverpool 2nd

Manchester City are back on top of the Premier League this Thursday.

The Sky Blues were seven points behind Liverpool in the title race just a few weeks ago.

But following a 2-0 win at Goodison Park on Wednesday in the league, Man City are now above Liverpool once again.

Both City and Liverpool have 62 points. But the Reds are below City by virtue of goal difference.

Liverpool have a game in a hand over their Manchester rivals.

Arsenal & Everton

It’s been an excellent few days for Man City.

Last weekend Pep Guardiola’s side beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick against the Gunners.

Everton were then beaten 2-0 last night thanks to goals from Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus.

Up next: Chelsea

The big games keep coming for City. This weekend they head to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.

After the Everton game, Guardiola assessed the upcoming challenge in west London. He said:

We started well with Arsenal and Everton but now comes a really, really big test — a big bull.

Chelsea is an exceptional team with seven days to prepare that game. We will try. We have to prepare well.

This is a real final for us this weekend. If we are able to take these points, we are going to take a huge step forward.
