Silva’s struggles at Everton
Marco Silva has had a mixed 2018/19 season with Everton.
Earlier in the season, Everton were in good form and at one point looked like they could challenge for a Europa League spot.
After a recent run of poor results though, that is looking increasingly unlikely.
Everton have now won just two of their last five league games, losing the other three.
This puts them 9th in the league, five points off 7th place Wolves and an astonishing 14 points off 6th place.
As a result, Marco Silva has himself admitted the pressure to keep his job is growing.
Speaking after Everton’s 3-1 defeat vs Wolves, Silva had this to say:
“I am not here to find excuses or whine about something, of course there will be questions about me.”

Pep Guardiola on Marco Silva & Everton
With the pressure on your job continuing to grow, one of the last teams you want to face is Manchester City.
Unfortunately for Silva, that is whom Everton must take on this Wednesday.
City will also no doubt come at Everton with everything they have as they will go top of the league with a win over the Toffees.
Heading into the game Pep Guardiola was also asked about Silva’s job, to which he responded:
“The people don’t know how difficult it is to create the teams.
“The people believe I buy three or four players, a new manager, and everything fits perfectly immediately. Sometimes it takes time.
“My advice… if they believe in the project, if they believe in him, they have to move forward with him, but nobody assures you a new manager is going to better.
“It’s difficult to create, to build something. You need time, it takes time. So it depends if they trust (him) or not.” As quoted by Sky Sports.
