‘Mikel Arteta likely to be Manchester City’s manager’
Pep Guardiola is in the final year of his contract at Man City.
Will the Spanish manager manage to win the Champions League during his career at the Etihad Stadium?
Domestically, Guardiola has been a certified success, winning the Premier League in his last two years in England.
However, the Sky Blues are yet to crack it in Europe.
On Saturday, Guardiola opened up about his future in Manchester.
According to Guardiola, it wouldn’t be a shock if Mikel Arteta succeeded him at City. Pep said:
I’m pretty sure [he’ll succeed me]. He will have success.
Sooner or later it’s going to happen (Arteta becoming a manager). He’s a young, young manager. He has experience already, handling big players and big teams.
He’s got an incredible work ethic. He has a special talent to analyse what happens and to find solutions.
We talk a lot about what he believes and how he feels.
He’s an incredible person, an incredible human being, with incredible values about the dressing room and what it means to be together.
He’s already an incredible, incredible manager. He will have incredible success in the future.
When will Pep Guardiola leave Man City?
Pep Guardiola’s contract with the Sky Blues expires at the end of the season.
Will City agree a contract extension with Guardiola?
Perhaps, as last season, Pep indicated that he was open to extending his stay in Manchester.
Amid speculation at the time that Guardiola could have joined Juventus, Pep said:
I have two more years here and I am going to move? Impossible.
If Manchester City want me I will stay for two more years and hopefully another one.
I am not going to go to Juventus in the next two years.
