Pep Guardiola provides update on Man City trio ahead of Zagreb

Dinamo Zagreb vs Man City

Manchester City’s final Champions League group game of the season comes against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

City have amassed 11 points from their previous five Champions League ties this campaign.

And as a result of how the rest of Group C played out, the Citizens have already secured their spot in the Champions League last 16.

Pep Guardiola’s men have also already secured top spot in their group, making Wednesday’s tie rather redundant for the Sky Blues.

As for Zagreb, they head into the clash with City 3rd in the group.

However, the Croatian outfit are just one point off 2nd placed Shakhtar Donetsk, so should they beat City and Shakhtar fail to see off Atalanta on Wednesday, Zagreb would clinch second spot.

Pep on Aguero, Silva & Stones

Ahead of the game with Zagreb, Manchester City named their traveling squad on Tuesday via their official Twitter account.

The squad was pretty standard, but three big names didn’t make it onto the plane for the Premier League champions.

Those players were Sergio Aguero, David Silva and John Stones.

City would also speak about the aforementioned trio earlier in the day.

Man City reported that Stones, who limped off vs Manchester United this past weekend, did not train on Tuesday morning.

The Manchester powerhouse also confirmed that Sergio Aguero sat out the training session as he continues to recover from a muscle injury.

It was also mentioned by City that David Silva sat out the training session, although they did not give a reason why.

But Pep Guardiola gave a more in-depth update on Aguero, Silva and Stones in his press conference on Tuesday evening.

The Spaniard confirmed that all three are injured, with Silva a risk to play after suffering a kick in a dangerous part of his leg.

Guardiola than stated that Stones is out for a week, while Aguero is much better but not ready yet.
