Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been talking about Raheem Sterling’s Etihad future today amid talks over a potential new deal.
Reports have claimed that the player is set to be offered a deal that could double his current salary in an attempt to keep him at the club.
The player has impressed this season and is well in the running for the Premier League young player of the year.
Though, there is certainly no guarantee that he will be remaining in the English top flight after the current season.
Reports seem to suggest that a number of clubs are interested in signing the Englishman this summer.
The wingers impressive form is even said to impressed clubs at the top of European football, including Real Madrid.
The Bernabeu side could make a move for the player and should City fail in getting Sterling to sign a new deal, he could be off.
Though, Pep Guardiola has confirmed today that many clubs are interested in signing him.
However, the club have made sure that he knows just how important he is.
“No doubts, it is so important,” he said.
“But you know the deals are the deals. There are the agents and many circumstances, maybe other clubs are interested in him.
“Anything can happen, but he knows how important he is to us.”
“In terms of contracts, I’m not the guy.
“It’s Txiki who’s talking about that.”
Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane are world class footballers but they’ll get no respect because one runs like a poof and the other can’t say his own name without choking on his own saliva. Embarrassing
