Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given an update on the clubs move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez amid talk of an imminent move.
The Chilean is set to leave the Emirates this month with the player coming to the end of his contract in the summer.
Arsenal now have the chance to cash in on any move and Arsene Wenger has today suggested that they are open to a bidding way.
“It’s not that I don’t want to inform you. I don’t want to give you wrong information,” he explained.
“At the moment, nothing is decided one way or another.
“A bidding war is always beneficial to the club who can take advantage of it but we are not in that.”
With that in mind, Manchester City still look in pole position despite reported interest from Manchester United and Liverpool
It broke on Wednesday that the club had reportedly received enquires from those two clubs amid a move to Man City.
Though, the evidence seems to suggest that the player will still move to the Etihad and join up with former manager Pep Guardiola.
The Catalan boss remained tight-lipped on a move, insisting he must keep his players focused on the pitch.
“I understand the question [on Sanchez] but Sunday is Liverpool,” he explained.
“I want to focus on that. everyone knows the quality of Alexis – but it’s Liverpool. I’m sorry I can’t answer about Alexis and other players.”
