Manchester City vs Burton
Manchester City are set to take on Burton Albion on Wednesday in the League Cup semi-final first leg.
Man City are the current holders of the League Cup after beating Arsenal 3-0 last year.
To get to the semi-final, Man City have beaten Oxford 3-0 in the third round, Fulham 2-0 in the round of 16 and Leicester City on penalties in the quarter-final.
Burton, on the other hand, have had to play a lot more games to reach this stage.
They beat Shrewsbury 2-1 in the first round, Aston Villa 1-0 in the second round, Burnley 2-1 in the third round, Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the round of 16 and Middlesbrough 1-0 in the quarter-final.
While League One side Burton have done extremely well to get to this stage, their chairman is not holding out to much hope of progressing any further:
“We will go there on Wednesday and we will enjoy the occasion but I think it is about damage limitation after seeing the demolition of Rotherham in the FA Cup on Sunday.”
Burton chairman Ben Robinson ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final against City:
“We will go there on Wednesday and we will enjoy the occasion but I think it is about damage limitation after seeing the demolition of Rotherham in the FA Cup on Sunday.” [Sky Sports]

Benjamin Mendy update
Ahead of the Burton tie, Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media about City’s injuries.
It is mostly good news for City before Wednesday’s game with only Claudio Bravo and Benjamin Mendy unavailable for the clash.
Mendy has been out injured since November of last year after undergoing knee surgery.
However, Pep is hoping the full-back will return by the end of January.
