Chelsea vs Man City
The FA Cup returns to our screens this weekend with two semi-final clashes.
Leicester City are facing off with Southampton in one tie, but the more high-profile clash will pit Manchester City against Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel has not been in London long. But in that time, he has transformed the Blues into one of the most defensively sound sides in England, and has also secured them a Champions League semi-final spot for the first time since 2014.
So, Chelsea will do doubt fancy their chances against Man City this weekend, despite Pep Guardiola’s side being in superb form this season.
After beating Dortmund in midweek, the Citizens are of course still able to secure a historic quadruple this campaign, and will no doubt be confident of doing so if they can see off Chelsea, who are arguably the strongest side left in the competition barring City.
Aguero to miss out vs Chelsea
Pep Guardiola would hold his pre-Chelsea press conference on Friday.
When doing so the Spaniard discussed a number of topics including team news.
And the update was largely a positive one for the Sky Blues, with Guardiola confirming that barring Sergio Aguero, everyone else is fit for Sunday:
“[Sergio is] not fit yet. [Everyone else] is ok. Tired but in a good mood.”
Guardiola was also full of praise for his opposite number this weekend:
“I know him from Mainz. When I was in Munich, after he went to Dortmund and spent one or two games playing exactly the way he wanted to play. It was difficult to take over a team during the season but he has a lot of experience winning at a top club like PSG and now another club at Chelsea. I knew from the beginning he would do a good job.”
