Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has admitted he is uncertain as to whether Pedro will return from injury by the end of the week.
The Blues take on Liverpool in a Carabao Cup and Premier League doubleheader this week.
Sarri could be without the Spaniard for their trip to Anfield tomorrow and then the meeting at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Maurizio Sarri on Pedro’s importance
Maurizio Sarri hopes to have Pedro back for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool but admits his availability is currently unclear.
Pedro suffered a shoulder injury during Chelsea’s Europa League clash with PAOK.
“For us, he is very important because he is the best player we have with movement without the ball.
“We are trying to have him at the end of the week, but I don’t know at the moment.”
West Ham United 0-0 Chelsea
Following their first Europa League outing of the season, Chelsea were the latest side to fall victim to the Europa League hangover.
The West London club were held to a goalless draw on the opposite side of the capital on Sunday.
The Blues looked lethargic and were unable to break down a West Ham United.
Chelsea had won five from five prior to their trip to the London Stadium whilst West Ham had claimed just three points all season.
Many other Premier League clubs have struggled the weekend after a fixture in the competition.
Sarri will now need to find a way to avoid another slump following Europa League action.
