Paul Pogba & two Man United defenders slaughtered by Duncan Castles after Wolves

Duncan Castles & Jose Mourinho

It’s common knowledge that journalist Duncan Castles has close ties to Jose Mourinho.

Whether fairly or not, Castles is often viewed as the mouthpiece of Mourinho in the British press.

Before Mourinho was booted out of Old Trafford, the Special One was vocal with criticisms of the current Man United squad.

Since last summer, Mourinho advocated for United to sign a new centre-half.

Mourinho also called out Paul Pogba throughout the season as the French World Cup winner was repeatedly dropped.

Wolves 2 – Man United 1

Ole’s at the wheel, but are the wheels falling off of Man United’s season?

Man United will head into their Champions League quarterfinal with Barcelona in ropey form. The Red Devils have lost three of their last four matches, including two 2-1 defeat away at Wolves.

On Tuesday goals for Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez steered Wolves to the three points.

After the Wolves win, Duncan Castles went after Paul Pogba, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.

Castles used Wolves’ winner as his launchpad for criticism.

Pogba was slammed for allowing “to run unmarked into the area and attack the cross.”

At the start of Wolves’ decisive move, Pogba was marking Dendoncker.

However by the time the ball rolled over the line, the French midfielder was miles away from the Belgian.

Wolves’ winner went down in the record books as Chris Smalling own goal.

In recent months, both Smalling and Phil Jones have agreed new deals with United.

Other stars, including David De Gea and Ander Herrera, have so-far baulked at agreeing new deals with the club.

Castles, in a sarcastic swipe at the likes of Ed Woodward, commented “good job they’ve both been tied down to new long-term contracts ahead of more important players”.
