Paul Pogba & Romelu Lukaku fight after Southampton

Manchester United 3 – Southampton 2

Man United maintain their superb domestic form last weekend beating Southampton 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku was the hero for the Red Devils.

After scoring twice last midweek against Crystal Palace, Lukaku bagged another brace against the Saints.

However, according to the Sun on Tuesday, Lukaku had a “bust up” with Paul Pogba after Saturday’s win.

Paul Pogba & Romelu Lukaku fight

The Sun believe that Lukaku was furious after the Southampton game.

That’s because the Belgian wanted to take a penalty late in the match.

Paul Pogba stepped up to take the spot-kick instead, and the Frenchman duly missed.

The Sun tell their readers the following:

The close pals had to be calmed down by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer afterwards as they went at it.

In-form striker Lukaku told Pogba that he would have let him take it if the roles had been reversed.

Many may really wonder if Lukaku was upset about the penalty.

Pogba is United’s designated penalty taker, and it seems strange to think that Lukaku would really believe that the midfielder would hand over his duties.

For the record, Lukaku has 12 goals this season.

What Lukaku actually said after Southampton

Are the Sun calling Lukaku a liar?

It’s worth noting that after the Southampton game, Lukaku addressed Pogba’s penalty. He said:

I am a striker and I wanted Paul Pogba to score the penalty, he has been on a good run but he has been an important player for us.

Lukaku reacts to the Sun

The Belgian hits back signalling that the tabloid lied.
