Paul Pogba ready to hand in transfer request at Man United – ABC

As per a report from Spanish outlet ABC, Paul Pogba will attempt to force through a move to Real Madrid this summer by handing in a transfer request at Manchester United.

Zidane returns to Real

Zinedine Zidane made his return to the bench at the Bernabeu back in March.

The former Blancos’ midfielder was reinstalled following failed stints on the part of both Julen Lopetegui and Santi Solari, which led to the capital giants relinquishing their title as European champions for the first time in 4 years, and failing to mount any kind of serious La Liga title challenge to Clasico rivals Barcelona.

And, on the back of Zidane’s reappointment, Real have since made abundantly clear their intentions to overhaul the club’s squad.

As many as 13 players are rumoured to be free to depart the Bernabeu, including the likes of Gareth Bale, Isco and Mateo Kovacic.

In addition, Los Merengues’ board have already splashed out well over 300 million Euro on reinforcements to Zidane’s squad this summer, with all of Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Eden Hazard having made their way to the Spanish capital.

Pogba pushing for Man United exit?

Numerous reports, though, suggest that Real are not done spending yet.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be demanding at least one more star addition to his midfield, with the two players most heavily-linked to this point having been Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba.

Recent claims emanating from Spain, though, have suggested that Real have dropped their interest in the former, to focus the club’s full attention and resources on luring Pogba away from Manchester United.

And, as per the aforementioned update courtesy of ABC this afternoon, Pogba is ready to do his part to push his move to the Bernabeu through over the coming months.

The French international is said to be preparing to hand in a transfer request at Old Trafford.

This, of course, would leave Manchester United in a tough position, though ABC also suggest that the Red Devils will not let their star midfielder go without a fight.

As such, the Premier League heavyweights will demand a hefty 180 million Euro to part ways with Pogba.

Real, for their part, however, do not intend to take their offer beyond 125 million Euro plus bonuses.

As a result, even if Pogba does decide to hand in a formal transfer request, the chances of him actually securing a move to Real appear slim at best.
