The Mourinho revolution

How much money will Manchester United spend before the summer transfer window eventually closes?

Since joining the club, Jose Mourinho has managed to conduct a revolution rather than an evolution at Old Trafford.

The Special One has been allowed to spend a shedload of cash in the off-season, as United look to regain their position amongst the elite clubs in England and Europe.

Paul Pogba is the ext big name to join the Red Devils, as United are poised to shatter the world transfer record on the 23-year-old midfielder.

But United fans who may have thought the Pogba would be the final summer signing, should think again.

One more defender

According to the Sunday Times, Mourinho is plotting one more big acquisition after the Pogba deal goes through. That signing will be a defender.

As reported in the Sunday broadsheet:

Jose Mourinho is working on strengthening United’s defence.

United’s options for the centre of defence include Ezequiel Garay, Jose Fonte and Leonardo Bonucci. The last-named would require negotiating another expensive agreement with Juventus, who have floated a price of £60m for the player.

The article also states that Matteo Darmian, who joined just 12 months ago from Torino, could be heading back to Serie A, although no specifics are detailed.

Other players tipped to walk out of the Old Trafford exit door include Bastian Schweinsteiger, Marco Rojo, Juan Mata and Daley Blind.
