Paul Pogba & Frank Lampard: How Man United’s star is now ready to copy Chelsea icon

Paul Pogba on Frank Lampard

Paul Pogba was once again in top form for Man United on Sunday.

The French World Cup winner laid on the assist for Marcus Rashford in Man United’s 1-0 win at Wembley.

Since Jose Mourinho’s Old Trafford exit, Pogba looks like a different player.

Finally justifying his price-tag, Pogba has been involved in eight goals since Mourinho’s sacking.

Pogba has scored four goals and grabbed for assists.

After the Tottenham game, Pogba told journalists the following about his new attacking role at Old Trafford:

This is what the manager told me to do, he told me to get into the box. The best example for me is Frank Lampard.

Lampard, of course, is Chelsea’s all-time record scorer.

What Paul Pogba said after Tottenham

Man United midfielder vs Chelsea icon

Pogba’s comments on Frank Lampard were eye-catching.

Why? Because back in December reports did the rounds that Mourinho was trying to mould Pogba into Lampard 2.0.

Yet when Mourinho tried to advise Pogba of copying the Chelsea icon, the French reportedly had a bad reaction.

The Sun reported that Mourinho tried to improve Pogba’s attitude after he stripped the Manchester United midfielder of the vice-captaincy earlier in the season.

Mourinho hailed Lampard as the ‘perfect midfielder’ for Pogba to mimic his game on.

However, the Sun revealed that Pogba reacted to the ‘copy Lampard’ advise by asking Mourinho if Lampard had won a World Cup.
