Paul Pogba can’t understand why he keeps hitting the crossbar for Manchester United

Pogba settling in

After a tough first few months following his spectacular summer move from Juventus, we’re finally starting to see the real Paul Pogba.

There’s been lots of hype and white noise around Pogba; indeed, he didn’t choose the most auspicious of times to introduce his emoji to the world.

The Frenchman is a one-man social media mogul, and has taken over Twitter with his viral videos and hairstyles, and all of this off-the-field stuff has at times appeared to distract him on the pitch.

That being said, he has looked increasingly focused of late, and the real Pogba is finally starting to come to the fore at Old Trafford.

Keeps hitting the crossbar

But despite the much improved performances from Pogba, he hasn’t quite been able to get the goals his performances have merited.

The midfielder has just 4 league goals to his name so far, but to be fair to him, he’s been a lick of paint away from scoring many more.

Pogba has hit the crossbar several times with cracking long-range efforts, and he can’t quite comprehend what’s going on, as he explained in this interview with Man United’s website after last night’s win over St Etienne – in which he once again hit the woodwork:

“I wanted to score. Then, after I didn’t score, I hit the crossbar like the other chances I’ve had. At one point I thought ‘I don’t know what’s going on here, something must be going on!’

I think I’ve hit the bar more in eight months here than I did in four years at Juventus. It’s strange, but I’m still happy.”

Pogba also heaped praise on teammate Zlatan:

“That’s the big player,”That’s what we want from other big players. He looks like he loves Saint-Etienne because he seems to love scoring against the French side. So, hopefully, we score again and he’ll get better. We love the Ibrahimovic we see today.”
