Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has opened up about when he played for Chelsea and failed to score in a seven-goal thriller.
The Frenchman jumped onto the scene last season at Monaco in which the French side captured the hearts of all football fans.
Players such as Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy lined up for the side and produced stunning football.
Though, it was the French striker who got the most plaudits before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain in a deal that will eventually cost around £150m.
While the player has obviously become a huge success during his very short first-team career, it could have been so different.
That is because the player could have signed for Chelsea when he 10 or 11 years old.
What could have been
The Frenchman travelled to England for a one-week trial and even played in a game which was extremely high scoring.
Though, discussing the game, Mbappe revealed that he didn’t even score but the experience in England was ‘great’.
‘I was still young back then, maybe 10 or 11,’ Mbappe told FourFourTwo.
‘I went to London and spent just under a week over there. I trained at Chelsea and we played a friendly match against Charlton Athletic.
‘We won 6-0 or 7-0. I played up front, but I don’t think I scored. It was great – it was my first experience abroad and a chance for me to see what the game was like in England.’

PSG and Chelsea could soon be about to meet in terms of managerial changes.
That is because the French giants have reacted to their Real Madrid loss by going after Antonio Conte.
