Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for life without Unai Emery as reports today claim the Spanish boss is set to be sacked and replaced.
Though it’s not the Emery sacking that is taking all the headlines, it is the shock man that they are looking to hire as his replacement.
That man is former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.
The Spaniard left Barcelona at the end of last season, citing the pressure that was placed on him during his time as manager.
Enrique decided that it would be best for him to take a year out of football and to really get that desire for management back.
Now, Paris Saint-Germain are looking to give him that way back into football at the very top level, managing former players such as Dani Alves and Neymar.
Both those players would no doubt have a hand in potentially bringing Enrique into Paris in the summer.
With that in mind, Emery’s future is certainly in doubt at the French giants.
L’Equipe claim that the 3-1 loss against Bayern in the Champions League this week was infuriating for PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
They also say that is to the extent of the president feeling that Emery is not the man to lead them forward into a golden era.
There is certainly pressure on the Spanish coach now and with the club already lining up replacements, he needs something special this season.
