PSG set for second saga with Everton
Paris Saint-Germain have made a fresh approach for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, after they failed to sign him back in January.
The Senegalese midfielder was a hot topic during the January transfer window.
It was reported that Paris Saint-Germain had moved for Gueye, making a £21.5 million bid.
However, Everton stood firm, and were not willing to let go of one of their star men for cheap.
As a result, Gueye was unable to secure a move to PSG, which he later revealed his disappointment at.
“Everyone knows it, I was a bit disappointed not to join PSG because it is a great club and all players dream of playing for this type of club,” he explained to Canal Plus.
Now, though, he could get his ‘dream’ move to PSG, with the French champions making a fresh bid for the midfielder.
PSG make €30 million offer for Gueye
According to L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have made a new €30 million bid for Gueye.
Their report claims that PSG have ‘reestablished discussions with Everton for its Senegalese international Idrissa Gueye (29), under contract until June 2022.’
It was reported back in May by the Liverpool Echo that Everton would demand a fee of £35 million for Gueye this summer.
However, PSG’s opening bid falls way short of that.
It’s said by L’Equipe that ‘a first bid of around €30 million was even issued for the former Lille player.’
However, ‘negotiations should continue in the coming days.’
