Mesut Ozil admits life at Arsenal hasn’t been easy

Not been easy

Mesut Ozil has admitted that his career since joining Arsenal has not been all roses.

The former Germany international said that things are always special – but can be hard at the club.

The fans have a love hate relationship with Ozil, and at times, he’s come under-fire.

That’s been specifically true since putting pen to paper on his new contract.

Ozil said to the Arsenal website: “It’s not always been easy, but it has always been special.”

He also admitted that the main thing the fans want to do is win for the team.

Arsenal have struggled to do that at times in recent seasons, but are changing this term under their new manager.

He added: “At the end of the day we were happy with the team. It was special, not just for us, but for the fans as well.

“We keep trying to win trophies to make us and the fans happy.”

Life under Emery

Arsenal fans have rallied since their losses in the first two games of the season.

Now, after a great run of results and a draw against title contenders Liverpool, they’re on a roll.

At times, games that should be wins end up being draws, and the title may be beyond them.

The form of Manchester City might be a step too far for the Gunners.

However, a top four finish would be a huge achievement.

It would be even better if they beat Jose Mourinho’s Man United and local rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the spot.
